Presbyterian Church USA Criticizes Israel, Ignores Christian Persecution

Raymond Ibrahim
CBN News

The Presbyterian Church USA recently withdrew $21 million worth of investments from Israel.
Days before the recent Israel/Hamas conflict erupted, the Presbyterian Church USA withdrew $21 million worth of investments from Israel because, as spokesman Heath Rada put it, the Israeli government's actions "harm the Palestinian people."
Soon after, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared on NBC's "Meet the Press" and was asked if he was "troubled" by the Presbyterian Church's move. Netanyahu responded:
It should trouble all people of conscience and morality because it's so disgraceful. You know, you look at what's happening in the Middle East and I think most Americans understand this, they see this enormous area riveted by religious hatred, by savagery of unimaginable proportions. Then you come to Israel and you see the one democracy that upholds basic human rights, that guards the rights of all minorities, that protects Christians—Christians are persecuted throughout the Middle East. So most Americans understand that Israel is a beacon of civilization and moderation. You know I would suggest to these Presbyterian organizations to fly to the Middle East, come and see Israel for the embattled democracy that it is, and then take a bus tour, go to Libya, go to Syria, go to Iraq, and see the difference. And I would give them two pieces of advice, one is, make sure it's an armor plated bus, and second, don't say that you're Christians.
It's difficult—if not impossible—to argue with Netanyahu's logic. Indeed, several points made in his one-minute response are deserving of some reflection.

A leader is not almighty, he needs help. When the Israelites fought the Amalekites at Rephidim, Aaron and Hur held Moses' arms high in order for the Israelites to win the battle.
I am here to offer to hold at least one of your arms.
Everyone pushes Israel for ceasefire and Israel's needs are not even considered.
Time for you to present Israel’s ceasefire terms to Obama and the UN, and then do not budge on it one iota. This ceasefire Obama and the UN need to "sell" to Hamas.

How Islamic are Muslims?

Daniel Pipes
National Review Online
July 28, 2014

Be the first of your friends to like this.
EI2 stands for Economic IslamicityIndex; LGI2 for Legal and Governance IslamicityIndex; HPI2 for Human and Political Rights IslamicityIndex; and IRI2 for International Relations IslamicityIndex. Together, they make up the IslamicityIndex (I2).
Islamic law demands much of Muslims; how successfully do they fulfill its precepts?
Scheherazade S. Rehman and Hossein Askari of Georgetown University provide an answer in a 2010 article, "How Islamic are Islamic Countries?" In it, they establish the Islamic teachings and then calculate how well these are applied in 208 countries and territories. They posit four separate indices (economics, the law and governance, human and political rights, international relations); then they combine these into a single overall index, which they call the IslamicityIndex.
Perhaps surprisingly, the ten countries that top the list of Islamicity turn out to be, starting at the top, New Zealand, Luxemburg, Ireland, Iceland, Finland, Denmark, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Netherlands. The bottom ten are Mayotte, the West Bank and Gaza, Somalia, the Isle of Man, Eritrea, Sudan, the Channel Islands, Iraq, the Comoros, and Angola. Put differently, none of the top ten "Islamic" countries has a Muslim-majority, but in seven of the bottom ten, one-half or more of the population is Muslim.

Gaza: Jihadis use mosques to store weapons, glorify jihad terror

Mosques are especially suited for this purpose, since if Israel hits one of them, the Jewish state is immediately charged with recklessly targeting civilian areas, endangering civilians, etc. The fact is, however, that nowhere but in Gaza is the poem that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan notoriously quoted more true: “The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets and the faithful our soldiers….”

United Nations and Hamas Silent On Use Of Children as Human Shields

ALAN KORNMAN July 28, 2014
Every person with a conscience can agree that Hamas storing rockets beneath a children's school is evil.  When the UN funded school administrators return the ‘hidden' Hamas rockets to the local Gaza police, run by Hamas, then the U.N. system is poisoned to its core.
For the second time this week, Hamas rocket caches have been found under children's schools run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNWRA) creating a disturbing pattern that can no longer be ignored or dismissed as an isolated event. On July 16 the UNWRA found 20 Hamas rockets beneath its school for displaced children.  These 20 hidden rockets from July 16 were returned to Hamas just as this most recent rocket cache was returned to Hamas.

Obama and Kerry Pressure Israel to Leave Hamas Alone

Joseph Klein On July 28, 2014
President Obama is seeking to pressure Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into agreeing to an immediate unconditional ceasefire. In a phone call on Sunday, Obama reportedly told the Israeli prime minister that such a ceasefire was “a strategic imperative.” Obama specifically referred to the ceasefire proposed by Secretary of State John Kerry, which Israel’s security cabinet rejected unanimously last Friday.
Israel has been willing to observe several humanitarian pauses, primarily on a unilateral basis. Hamas went along with one 24-hour pause during the first part of the weekend and then resumed its rocket firings. After Hamas proposed its own additional 24-hour pause on Sunday, which Israel was willing to accept, Hamas nevertheless kept firing its rockets.

How Muslims Think

Dr. Arieh Eldad On July 28, 2014
I was instrumental in establishing the “Israeli National Skin Bank”, which is the largest in the world. The National Skin Bank stores skin for every day needs as well as for war time or mass casualty situations.
This skin bank is hosted at the Hadassah Ein Kerem University hospital in Jerusalem where I was the Chairman of plastic surgery.
This is how I was asked to supply skin for an Arab woman from Gaza, who was hospitalized in Soroka Hospital in Beersheva, after her family burned her.  Usually, such atrocities happen among Arab families when the women are suspected of having an affair.
We supplied all the needed Homografts for her treatment.  She was successfully treated by my friend and colleague, Prof. Lior Rosenberg and discharged to return to Gaza.
She was invited for regular follow-up visits to the outpatient clinic in Beersheva.

Academic Lies and Distortions in the Cognitive War Against Israel

Richard L. Cravatts On July 28, 2014
Jews have been accused of harming and murdering non-Jews since the twelfth century in England, when Jewish convert to Catholicism, Theobald of Cambridge, mendaciously announced that European Jews ritually slaughtered Christian children each year and drank their blood during Passover season.
That medieval blood libel, largely abandoned in the contemporary West, does, however, still appear as part of Arab world’s vilification of Jews—now transmogrified into a slander against Israel, the Jew of nations. But in the regular chorus of defamation against Israel by a world infected with Palestinianism, a new, more odious trend has begun to show itself: the blood libel has been revivified; however, to position Israel (and by extension Jews) as demonic agents in the community of nations, the primitive fantasies of the blood libel are now masked with a veneer of academic scholarship and published as politicized scientific study.

Patriots Take On the Muslim Brotherhood

Daniel Greenfield On July 28, 2014
“We are faced with an enemy whose goal is to conquer the world by subversion and infiltration or, if necessary, by open war.”
The speaker was Senator John F. Kennedy and he was discussing the Communist Control Act that he had co-sponsored. The Act did what had been previously thought impossible; it outlawed the Communist Party.
The latest bill to fight an enemy whose goal is also to conquer the world by subversion, infiltration and open war doesn’t have a Kennedy co-sponsor. Instead it has the two members of Congress who have fought the hardest to expose the Muslim Brotherhood; Michele Bachmann and Louie Gohmert.
The Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act goes to the heart of the beast by designating the entity a Foreign Terrorist Organization. Plenty of Muslim Brotherhood affiliates and splinter groups, from Hamas to Al Qaeda, have already ended up on the FTO list.

Abbas calls for "war for Allah," and the West Bank erupts in violence

Intifada-style violence follows Abbas' call
for religious "war for Allah,"
causing 9 Palestinians deaths

Senior Fatah official Tirawi:
"The big explosion is coming...
No one will say that weapons are forbidden
in the West Bank."

by Itamar Marcus

Palestinian Media Watch reported on Thursday that Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas had publicly declared the current conflict with Israel as a religious "war for Allah." On Friday, the Palestinian news service Ma'an printed an opinion piece that likewise interpreted the last lines of Abbas' speech as a call to West Bank Palestinians to initiate violence:
"He gave the sign to let the [Palestinian] street in the West Bank loose. Isn't the Quranic verse he quoted during his last speech, 'Permission [to fight] has been given to those who are being fought, because they were wronged. And indeed, Allah is competent to give them victory' [Surah 22:39, trans. Sahih International] a clear sign to loosen the reins of the street?"

Violence began immediately following Abba's speech and peaked on Saturday, as reported in the Jerusalem Post: "Nine Palestinians were killed during clashes with the IDF and Border Police over the weekend, in one of the deadliest days in the West Bank in the last 10 years." [July 27, 2014]

Assessing Secretary Kerry's Proposal

Ambassador (ret.) Yoram Ettinger, "Second Thought: US-Israel Initiative”
"Israel Hayom”,  http://bit.ly/Kq550P
The value of Secretary John Kerry's proposals are consistent with Kerry's track record.
Kerry's Syrian Track Record
Until the eruption of the civil war in Syria, Kerry was a member of a tiny group of US Senators – along with Chuck Hagel and Hillary Clinton – who believed that Bashar Assad was a generous, constructive leader, a reformer and a man of his word. Kerry was a frequent flyer to Damascus, dining with Assad and his wife at the Naranj restaurant in central Damascus.  Following a motorcycle ride with Bashar al-Assad, he returned to Washington referring to Bashar as "my dear friend.”

In September 2009, Kerry opined that "Syria is an essential player in bringing peace and stability to the region,” while Assad was conducting hate-education, repressing his opposition, hosting and arming terrorist outfits like Hezbollah, cozying up to Iran, and facilitating the infiltration of Jihadists into Iraq to kill US soldiers. WikiLeaks disclosed that on February, 2010, Kerry told Qatari leaders that the Golan Heights should be returned to Syria and that a Palestinian capital should be established in East Jerusalem.  "We know that for the Palestinians the control of Al-Aqsa mosque and the establishment of their capital in East Jerusalem are not negotiable.”

According to the London Telegraph, Kerry was a fierce critic of the Bush Administration's hardline against Assad, advocating a policy of engagement – rather than sanctions – against terror-sponsoring Syria.  In March 2011, Kerry subordinated reality-driven hope to wishful-thinking-driven hope: "my judgment is that Syria will move; Syria will change, as it embraces a legitimate relationship with the United States and the West.”  However, more than 200,000 deaths and 2 million refugees later, Assad's Syria has certainly changed for the worst. In January 2005, following another meeting with Assad, Kerry said: "This is the moment of opportunity for the Middle East, for the U.S. and for the world…. I think we found a great deal of areas of mutual interest…strengthening the relationship between the U.S. and Syria.”
On September 3, 2013, Kerry assured his colleagues that "the Syrian opposition has increasingly become more defined by its moderation.”  However, Assad's opposition consists, mainly, of anti-US, Islamic supremacists, Shariah-driven, anti-democracy, the violently-intolerant Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda, whose subversive vision transcends Syria, encompassing the Abode of Islam as a prelude to the grand assault on the Abode of the Infidel.

Know Your Military Colonists

 Sultan Knish
"Military Colonist" is a term that has gone out of fashion in this brave new world of "No Human Being is Illegal" and "Every Refugee Deserves to be Resettled."

The university history professor with an office full of fake Indian jewelery and a view of the parking lot will lecture on the military colonies of the Roman period, always careful to emphasize their eventual fate. And he may even get up to the 16th century. But he'll stay away from the present.

But if you are going to take land or seize power, you will need military colonists to hold it. The military colonist may be an ex-soldier, but he's more likely to be someone the empire, present or future, doesn't particularly need or have a use for. The Czars used serfs. The present day military colonist who shows up at JFK or LAX may also be a peasant with even less value to his culture.

Mexico's military colonists are not military. Often they aren't even Mexican. But they have managed to take back California without firing a shot. Unless you count the occasional drive by shooting.

Op-Ed: Israel, Stop Placating the World’s Opinion

For the world, no matter what Israel does, it is in the wrong.
Published: Sunday, July 27, 2014

The world doesn’t care if an Israeli tank holds its fire when facing a Hamas terrorist surrounded by children.
The world doesn’t care if Israeli pilots are justified in hitting a UN school.
The world doesn’t care if a Golani unit finds weapons in a Palestinian kindergarten.
For the world, Israel is the scapegoat. Jews are always unjust.

Israel can stop placating the world’s opinion: it costs human lives. Jewish lives.
A few days ago, I wrote a long article for my newspaper in Italy explaining Hamas’ human shields: hospitals, schools, mosques, cemeteries, United Nations’ sites. The readers’ first comment was: “Damned Jews, cancer of the world”.
You cannot placate this madness. It is like a virus. But Israel can stop placating the world’s opinion: it costs human lives. Jewish lives.
The entire world is now dispensing sage advice and is urging Israel to end the “cycle of violence” between the warring parties, as if there was a moral equivalence between beheaders and human beings, between mothers who send their own children to a certain death and mothers who shelter their children in safe rooms.
Who has the right to preach morality and proper conduct to the people of Israel?

Acknowledging the urgency of protecting civilian lives, ending the violence in Gaza and achieving a sustainable ceasefire and enduring resolution of the crisis, the Palestinian Authority, and Palestinian factions, and the State of Israel (“the Parties”), supported by Egypt, the United States, Turkey, Qatar, the United Nations, the Arab League and the European Union (“the International Partners”), make the following commitments:

a)        Build on the Cairo ceasefire agreement of November 2012.
b)        Convene within 48 hours to negotiate resolution of all issues necessary to achieve a sustainable ceasefire and enduring solution to the crisis in Gaza, including arrangements to secure the opening of border and non-border crossings, allow the entry of goods and people and ensure the social and economic livelihood of the Palestinian people living in Gaza, including fishing rights up to 12nm, transfer funds to Gaza for the payment of salaries for public employees, and address security issues.
c)         Establish a humanitarian ceasefire, withdrawal of IDF from Gaza Strip, ending all hostilities in and from the Gaza Strip, beginning in 48 hours and lasting for a period of seven days.

Kerry's cease-fire draft revealed: U.S. ignored most of Israel's security demands

Haaretz obtains U.S. proposal for weeklong cease-fire which Israel's cabinet rejected; Kerry did not recognize Israel's demand to continue working against the tunnels and presented Hamas as equal to Israel.

The cease-fire draft U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry presented to Israel on Friday evening contained practically no mention of Israel's security needs or of demilitarizing the Gaza Strip of rockets. The draft also forbade Israel from demolishing terror tunnels running from Gaza into Israeli territory during the seven day "humanitarian cease-fire" that were meant to end the fighting, according to a draft of the document obtained by Haaretz, revealed here for the first time.
The one-page document, marked "confidential," was submitted to the Prime Minister's Bureau on Friday at 5 P.M. as the security cabinet was meeting. The draft is titled "Framework for Humanitarian Ceasefire in Gaza."

President Obama Abandons Israel

Isi Leibler
July 27, 2014

In the midst of a bitter war – one that Israel sought to avoid - the statements and initiatives from U.S. President Barack Obama and his inept secretary of state, John Kerry, have convinced Hamas that if they maintain their campaign of terror against Israel and the civilians of Gaza, the international community will intervene on their behalf.
From Israel’s vantage, despite the continuing tragic losses, there can be no turning back until the weapons of destruction and the tunnels are neutralized. Failure to achieve this will doom us to a future and possibly even more dangerous confrontation with these genocidal barbarians.

Hamas in talks to buy missiles from North Korea

“Hamas is looking for ways to replenish its stocks of missiles because of the large numbers it has fired at Israel in recent weeks,” a Western security source told "The Telegraph."

Hamas and North Korea are in negotiations for a deal that would provide the Palestinian Islamist group in Gaza with a replenishment of missiles and communications equipment that would be used to continue its offensive, the British Daily Telegraph reported late Saturday.

The deal in the works is supposedly worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, the newspaper said.

“Hamas is looking for ways to replenish its stocks of missiles because of the large numbers it has fired at Israel in recent weeks,” a Western security source told The Telegraph. “North Korea is an obvious place to seek supplies because Pyongyang already has close ties with a number of militant Islamist groups in the Middle East.”

Hamas killed 160 “Palestinian” children to build jihad terror tunnels

tunnel62044Why, it’s genocide! It’s murder! Oh, wait — if the “Palestinians” are the ones killing “Palestinian” children, then it doesn’t matter. There will be no international media outcry.
“Hamas Killed 160 Palestinian Children to Build Terror Tunnels,” by Myer Freimann, Tablet, July 25, 2014 (thanks to Jerusalem Posts):
As the death toll of Operation Protective Edge rises, the deaths of children are firmly in the spotlight—and rightly so. It pains all reasonable people to hear of children dying as the consequence of war. Hamas and its supporters display gruesome pictures of dead and wounded children in order to gain sympathy for their portrait of Israel as the villain intent on killing Palestinians. In response, Israel cites the need to stop Hamas from firing thousands of rockets at its own children, who are being forced to live in bomb shelters, as well as the need to eliminate the tunnels that Hamas dug into Israel in order to carry out terror attacks against Israelis. One tunnel opening was found underneath an Israeli kindergarten.
But who built those tunnels? The answer is Hamas, of course—using some of the same children who are now trapped under fire in Gaza.
The Institute for Palestine Studies published a detailed report on Gaza’s Tunnel Phenomenon in the summer of 2012. It reported that tunnel construction in Gaza has resulted in a large number of child deaths.
“At least 160 children have been killed in the tunnels, according to Hamas officials”
The author, Nicolas Pelham, explains that Hamas uses child laborers to build their terror tunnels because, “much as in Victorian coal mines, they are prized for their nimble bodies”.

Hamas spokesperson: We did not agree to extension of cease-fire until midnight

LAST UPDATED: 07/26/2014

Israel earlier agreed to extension of 12 hour humanitarian cease-fire that began at 8:00 a.m. for an additional four hours; three rockets fired at Israel just after 8 p.m.

Israel agreed to extend by four hours a humanitarian truce agreed with Hamas and other armed groups in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, but Hamas said it never agreed to the extension that would take the 12 hour humanitarian ceasefire that began at 8:00 a.m. to midnight.
Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for Hamas said there was no agreement to extend the ceasefire.
Just after 8:00 p.m. three rockets from Gaza were fired at Israel at the Eshkol Regional Council. Rocket sirens sounded in the Shfela area at around 9:45 p.m.
Earlier on Saturday, the government source said Israel was leaning towards extending the truce.
"As far as Israel is concerned, there is no reason to prevent Gaza's people from stocking up on supplies, so long as the military can continue its work against the tunnels. Our war is not against the population," the official said.
Earlier Saturday, Foreign ministers from the United States, Europe and the Middle East called for an extension of the 12-hour ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said.

Is the FBI Creating Islamic Terrorists?

ObamaFBIIn FrontPage I discuss the latest report from Human Rights Watch, which claims that Islamic jihad terrorists in the U.S. weren’t really Islamic jihad terrorists until the FBI drove the poor dears to it:
Human Rights Watch issued a report Monday claiming that “far from protecting Americans, including American Muslims, from the threat of terrorism…in some cases the FBI may have created terrorists out of law-abiding individuals by suggesting the idea of taking terrorist action or encouraging the target to act.” This is blisteringly ridiculous, but is already getting (predictably enough) wide play in the mainstream media, as it appears to confirm Leftist fantasies of predatory, rapacious law enforcement officials preying upon innocent, law-abiding Muslims in accord with official but sub rosa policies of “Islamophobia.”
What would it take for you to commit an act of jihad mass murder? Could an FBI agent convince you by any combination of love or money to do such a thing? “In some cases the FBI may have created terrorists out of law-abiding individuals by suggesting the idea of taking terrorist action or encouraging the target to act.” Ridiculous. A law-abiding individual cannot be coaxed to commit jihad mass murder. One would have to be already sympathetic to the cause, and at very least eager to act. These jihadis in every case were given numerous opportunities to say no and opt out of the jihad plot. They did not. Thus they, not the FBI, bear responsibility for their actions.
Consider this also: I myself oppose jihad terror and Islamic supremacism. Leftists and Islamic supremacists constantly propagate the lie that this means that I, and others like me, hate Muslims and want to see them harmed. Accordingly, every now and again I get an email from a Leftist or Islamic supremacist who thinks he is cleverer than he is, inviting me to applaud, support, or join him in doing harm to Muslims. I turn these messages over to the FBI and that is the end of the matter, because in reality I stand for the equality of rights of all people before the law, and do not support any vigilante action or harming of any innocent Muslim (or any innocent person). I am, in other words, not able to be entrapped. Why are so many Muslims, by contrast, susceptible to the blandishments of these FBI agents who are supposedly cajoling them to commit jihad violence?

What both men have in common is a hard left background which has taught them that the only defining principle in politics is Lenin’s “Kto-Kovo”. Kto-Kovo or Who-Whom reduced all interactions to warfare. The Bolsheviks ushered in the end of rules, decency or honor. All that mattered was who would be able to destroy whom. It didn’t matter whether you had justice on your side, but what you would do about it.

Obama and Putin have the same message for America. “Kto-Kovo.” “Sue me.” “So what?” “I won.”

A Kto-Kovo leader, whether in the 7th century or the 21st century, operates by rallying his followers through bold acts that expand their power and humiliate and destroy the morale of their enemies.

Israel uncovers Hamas tunnel filled with maps, weapons, and IDF uniforms

Hamas gunmen shoot at IDF from hospital, prompting return fire; IDF says hospital used as command center by Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

The IDF on Wednesday uncovered a new tunnel shaft in Gaza, leading to an underground passage that contained IDF uniforms, maps, and weapons.

Meanwhile, a Givati infantry unit fired on a terrorist cell that surfaced from a tunnel. One terrorist has been shot.

Elsewhere in Gaza, an Amored Corps force fired on two terror cells that were about to fire an anti-tank missile at the army. The cell was hit, the army said. Overnight between Wednesday and Thurday, a Golani infantry force came under anti-tank fire. Soldiers returned fire, and directed an air strike at the cell that fired the missile. The cell was hit.

No, Supporting Hamas is Not 'Feminist'

Phyllis Chesler

It was only a matter of time. Today, Ali Abunimah's Electronic Intifada published a piece titled "Ending Zionism is a feminist issue."
I would say just the opposite is true: "Supporting Zionism is a feminist issue."
Today must be the day assigned to organize feminists for Hamas in Gaza. Another such article also just appeared—just as I was writing about Electronic Intifada's offering.
Zionism is a liberation movement of oppressed and persecuted Jews-- but it is so much more than that. Israel is a Western-style democracy in which free speech, freedom of inquiry, freedom of conscience, as well as women's and gay rights movements flourish. Both women and Arabs hold seats in Parliament, government, city councils, and the Israeli Supreme Court. Israel also tolerates a large and very vocal left, dissident movement which wields power in the universities, the media, and in not-for profit and human rights groups.

A Thank You Letter From Hamas to the Media

Noah Beck On July 25, 2014

Dear Members of the Mainstream Media,
You’ve been awesome! Everyone knows that we start unwinnable wars with Israel because the real victory happens when you predictably side with us each time. And you’ve been so supportive of our strategy that we really want to acknowledge your helpfulness. In particular, we thank you for:
-Focusing so much more on our suffering than anyone else’s. Nigerians must die in far greater numbers before you take notice, so we’re glad that you value our lives so much more.
-Minimizing your coverage, if any, of our attacks that led up to Israel’s military response and generally providing so little context that outsiders think that Israelis kill Palestinians just for fun. We’re especially grateful to the French media for this. Their distortions of the conflict are so one-sided that they incite Muslims across France to attack Jews and synagogues, and that is welcomed by our anti-Semitic worldview (although, unfortunately, such attacks remind everyone why Jews need a state).
-Emphasizing our civilian death toll without explaining that (1) our casualty reports are hasty and inflated, and (2) we maximize that total by using Palestinians to shield our weapons and by urging them to stay in the very areas that the IDF — in its annoying effort to minimize our civilian deaths — warns Gazans to evacuate.

The UN’s Propaganda War Against Israel

Joseph Klein

As usual, the United Nations has the Palestinians’ back while repeatedly stabbing Israel in the back. Hamas not only uses civilian human shields in Gaza to protect its operatives and weapons. It hides behind the diplomatic propaganda shield that the UN too willingly provides.
Most notably, the United Nations kangaroo court, known officially as the Human Rights Council, has decided to launch its own investigation into Israel’s actions in Gaza. In its one-sided resolution, adopted in Geneva on July 23rd by a vote of 29 states in favor, 1 against and 17 abstentions, the Human Rights Council “condemned in the strongest terms the widespread, systematic and gross violations of international human rights and fundamental freedoms arising from the Israeli military operations carried out in the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 13 June 2014.”
The Human Rights Council also “demanded that Israel immediately and fully end its illegal closure of the occupied Gaza Strip.”
Never mind that Gaza, which is under Hamas’s control, has not been occupied by Israel since 2005. And never mind that the closures of border crossings have been necessitated by Hamas’s aggressive attacks launched against Israeli civilians. Truth is never a consideration when the UN Human Rights Council and other UN bodies get involved in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The UN Human Wrongs Council

Elliott Abrams

Elliott Abrams is a senior fellow for Middle East Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. This piece is reprinted with permission and can be found on Abrams' blog "Pressure Points" here.
In the course of the Gaza war, several key European leaders have made tough, sensible statements supporting Israel's right to defend itself and demanding a cease-fire that does not give in to Hamas demands. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said, Germany stands "by the side of Israel" and noted that the weapons used by Hamas were of "a completely new quality." French President Francois Hollande said Israel had the right to use "all the necessary measures" to protect itself from rockets and missiles. Britain's new Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said, "Everybody in the U.K. and the West is appalled by the scenes coming out of Gaza, but every country has the right to defend itself against attack."
But that is only half the story. Not one of those three countries could bring itself to vote against a foul and vicious resolution in the U.N. Human Rights Council this week. Every single European country that is a council member abstained: Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Romania and the United Kingdom.

Why Muslims must Hate Jews

Recently, a Pakistani religious leader, Pirzada Muhammad Raza Saqib Mustafai, said: "When the Jews are wiped out ... the sun of peace [will] begin to rise on the entire world."  The same preaching is routinely done not only by clerics, but by politicians -- in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and elsewhere.  This is not just Ahmedinijad; it is at the heart of Islamic theology that world peace will be established only when all the Jews are wiped from the earth.  But few people in Western media are alarmed by this kind of rhetoric or care to expose this dreadful dark side of Islam's obsession with Jew-hatred.

I do not believe that one has to be an authority on human behavior or group thinking to find out the obvious pathology in Islamic Jew-hatred.  It is time for all of us to uncover and expose this atrocity against the Jewish people.  We owe that to humanity and the truth.

No true Muslim can see that such hatred is unbecoming, and unholy for a world religion to focus on - and that the credibility of Islam is tarnished by such hatred.  No Muslim is allowed to go far enough to self-analyze or ask why such hatred.  Muslims defend Jew-hatred by claiming that Jews betrayed Muhammad and thus deserve of this kind of treatment.
Even when I was a Muslim, I believed that the one-sided story against Jews by Islam was enough to justify all the killing, terror, lies, and propaganda by Islamic leaders against Jews.  To the average Muslim, routinely cursing Jews in mosques feels normal and even holy!

After a lot of thinking, analysis, research, and writing, I discovered that Jew-hatred in Islam is an essential foundation to the Islamic belief system that Muslims cannot seem to be able to rid themselves of.  Jew-hatred masks an existential problem in Islam.
Islam is terrified of the Jews, and the number-one enemy of Islam is the truth, which must be constantly covered at any cost.  It does not matter how many Muslim men, women, and children die in the process of saving Islam's reputation.

The number-one duty of Muslims is to protect the reputation of Islam and Mohammad.  But why would a religion burden its followers like that?

This is why:
When Mohammed embarked on his mission to spread Islam, his objective was to create a uniquely Arabian religion, one created by an Arab prophet, which reflected the Arabian values and culture.  Yet to obtain legitimacy, he had to link it to the two previous Abrahamic religions, Judaism and Christianity.

He expected the Jewish tribes who lived in Arabia to declare him their Messiah and thereby bring him more legitimacy with Arabs, especially with his own tribe in Mecca, the Quraish.  Because his own tribe had rejected and ridiculed him, Mohammed needed the approval of the Jews, whom he called the people of the book.  But the conversion of Jews to Islam was part of the scenario that Mohammed had to accomplish in order to prove to Meccans that they had made a mistake by rejecting him.

That was one of the reasons Mohammed chose to migrate to Medina, a town that had predominantly been settled by Jewish tribes and a few impoverished Arabs who lived around the Jews.  The Jews allowed Mohammed to move in.

At the beginning, the Koran of Mecca was full of appeals to the Jews, who were then described as "guidance and light" (5:44) and a "righteous" people (6:153-154), who "excelled the nations" (45:16).  But when the Jews rejected the appeasement and refused to convert to Islam, Mohammed simply and completely flipped.  The Quran changed from love to threats and then pure hatred, cursing, and commandments to kill Jews.  Rejection by the Jews became an intolerable obsession with Mohammed.

Not only did the Jews reject him, but their prosperity made Mohammed extremely envious.  The Jewish Arabian tribes earned their living from legitimate and successful business, but Mohammed earned his living and wealth through warfare -- by attacking Arab tribes, some of whom were from his own tribe -- and trade caravans, seizing their wealth and property.

That did not look good for a man who claimed to be a prophet of God.  The mere existence of the Jews made Mohammed look bad, which led Mohammed to unspeakable slaughter, beheading of 600 to 900 Jewish men of one tribe, and taking their women and children as slaves.  Mohammed had the first pick of the prettiest woman as his sex slave.  All of this senseless slaughter of the Jews was elaborately documented in Islamic books on the life of Mohammed -- not as something to be ashamed of, but as justified behavior against evil people.

One does not have to be psychiatrist to see the obvious: that Mohammad was a tormented man after the massacre he orchestrated and forced his fighters to undertake to empower and to enrich himself and his religion.  To reduce his torment, he needed everyone around him, as well as future generations, to participate in the genocide against the Jews, the only people whom he could not control.  An enormous number of verses in the Koran encouraged Mohammed's fighters to fight, kill, and curse Muslim fighters who wanted to escape fighting and killing Jews.  The Quran is full of promises of all kinds of pleasure in heaven to those who followed Mohammed's killing spree and curses and condemnation to those who chose to escape from fighting.
Muslims were encouraged to feel no hesitation or guilt for the genocide because it was not they who did it, but rather "Allah's hand."
Mohammed never got over his anger, humiliation, and rejection by "the people of the book" and went to his grave tormented and obsessed that some Jews were still alive.  On his deathbed, Mohammed entrusted Muslims to kill Jews wherever they found them, which made this a "holy commandment" that no Muslim can reject.
Muslims who wrote sharia understood how Mohammed was extremely sensitive to criticism, and that is why criticizing Mohammed became the highest crime in Islam that will never be forgiven even if the offender repents.  Mohammed's message on his deathbed was not for his followers to strive for holiness, peace, goodness, and to treat their neighbors as themselves, but rather a commandment for Muslims to continue the killing and the genocide against the Jews.  Killing thus became a holy act of obedience to Mohammed and Allah himself.

Mohammed portrayed himself as a victim of Jews, and Muslims must avenge him until judgment day.  With all Arab power, money, and influence around the world today, they still thrive at portraying themselves as victims.

Sharia also codified into law the duty of every Muslim to defend Mohammed's honor and Islam with his own blood, and allowed the violation of many commandments if it is for the benefit of defending Islam and Mohammed.  Thus, Muslims are carrying a huge burden, a holy burden, to defend Mohammed with their blood, and in doing so they are allowed to kill, lie, cheat, slander, and mislead.

Mohammed must have felt deep and extreme shame after what he had done to the Jews, and thus a very good reason had to be found to explain away his genocide.  By commanding Muslims to continue the genocide for him, even after his death, Mohammad expanded the shame to cover all Muslims and Islam itself.

All Muslims were commanded to follow Mohammed's example and chase the Jews wherever they went.  One hundred years after Mohammed's death, Arabs occupied Jerusalem and built Al Aqsa mosque right on top of the Jewish Temple ruins, the holiest spot of the Jews.  Muslims thought they had erased all memory of Jewish existence.

Mohammed's genocide of the Jews of Arabia became an unholy dark mark of shame in Islamic history, and that shame, envy, and anger continues to get the best of Muslims today.  In the eyes of Mohammed and Muslims, the mere existence of the Jewish people, let alone an entire Jewish state, delegitimizes Islam and makes Mohammed look more like a mass murderer than like a prophet.

For Muslims to make peace with Jews and acknowledge that Jews are humans who deserve the same rights as everyone else would have a devastating effect on how Muslims view their religion, their history, and the actions of their prophet.

Islam has a major existential problem.  By no will of their own, the Jews found themselves in the middle of this Islamic dilemma.  Islam must justify the genocide that Mohammad waged against the Jews.  Mohammad and Muslims had two choices: either the Jews are evil sub-humans, apes, pigs, and enemies of Allah, a common description of Jews still heard regularly in Middle Eastern mosques today, or Mohammad was a genocidal warlord not fit to be a prophet of God -- a choice that would mean the end of Islam.

Then and now, Mohammad and Muslims clearly chose the first worldview and decreed that any hint of the second must be severely punished.  Jews must remain eternally evil enemies of Islam if Islam is to remain legitimate.  There is no third solution to save the core of Islam from collapsing; either Mohammed was evil, or the Jews were evil.
Any attempt to forgive, humanize, or live peacefully with Jews is considered treason against Islam.  How can Muslims forgive the Jews and then go back to their mosques, only to read their prophet's words, telling them they must kill Jews wherever they find them?  It does not add up, if someone wants to remain Muslim.

That is why the number-one enemy of Islam is, and must remain, the truth.  If the truth exposes Islam's unjustified Jew-hatred, Muslims will be left with an empty shell of a religion, a religion whose prophet was a murderer, a thief, and a warlord.  Without Jew-hatred, Islam would self-destruct.

Reporters tell of Hamas attacks from civilian areas, get threats

Mideast Israel PalestiniansHamas appears to be trying desperately to keep the truth from getting out. It is getting out nevertheless, but Hamas need not fear: the United Nations and the mainstream media will continue to cover for them and demonize Israel.
“Gaza reporters’ tweets: Hamas using human shields,” by Lahav Harkov, Jerusalem Post, July 24, 2014:
Several journalists from around the world reported seeing rockets fired from civilian areas in Gaza in recent days, and received threatening tweets in return accusing them of “informing” the IDF.
On Wednesday, Peter Stefanovic of Australia’s Channel Nine News tweeted: “Hamas rockets just launched over our hotel from a site about two hundred metres away. So a missile launch site is basically next door.”
An account called @ThisIsGaza said this was Stefanovic’s fourth time “passing and fabricating information to Israel… from GAZA” and threatened to sue him.
Another account, @longitude0 wrote: “You are a cretin. Are you working for the IDF” and “in WWII spies got shot.”
Financial Times Jerusalem Bureau Chief John Reed reported seeing “two rockets fired toward Israel from near al-Shifa hospital, even as more bombing victims were brought in.”
Shifa, in Gaza City, is the main medical facility in the Strip.
In response, @Saritah_91 tweeted: “We’ll hold you responsible if Israel uses your tweet to bomb the hospital & then justify it.”
Another twitter user, @ Faysal_FreeGaza, said he’s “subtly justifying and encouraging IDF attacks on hospitals,” and @Maysara_ ara wrote: “Get out of Gaza u informant.”

Gabriel Allon Could Be AMIT’s Alumni

Nurit Greenger
This week, the vastly popular author, Daniel Silva, spent an exciting evening with AMIT’s supporters at the Olympic Collection in Los Angeles. Since the evening took place while rockets are being fired on Israel from Gaza, I asked Daniel what his messages to my readers: “I wish I could be there today; I write about soldiers and spies but I want to do something right now for the people in Israel. I feel utterly helpless. I am with the people of Israel, mind, body and soul; you are never far from my thoughts.”
One can question, what Daniel Silva and AMIT, an educational organization in Israel, have in common? The answer is, education and fine authorship.
Michal Taviv-Margolese is AMIT’s West Coast USA Director. Susie Meyers in AMIT’s USA Director of Development, who resided in New York. They are dedicated to raise the necessary funds for AMIT that allows children in Israel, for many of whom the forecast of good future is murky, to turn their life around. Unexpectedly, at this junction, with the current situation in Israel, some of the funds currently raised for AMIT will buy hours of therapy and counseling for children suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome from the effects of the war.

As Gaza sends rockets to Israel, Israel sends food and fuel to Gaza

Elder of Ziyon

Major media still refers to Israel's "siege" of Gaza.
Yet not only hasn't there been any sort of "siege" by any definition, there isn't even a siege today during wartime.
In the entire history of warfare, never has a nation given so much aid to the enemy as Israel does right now.
Israel, so vilified in so many demonstrations and articles and clueless newscasts, is providing food, fuel, medicines, setting up a field hospital, allowing patients to go to hospitals in Israel, and even helping fix the infrastructure that is being damaged by Hamas rockets!
The IDF's COGAT is even giving instructions on how people around the world can get their own humanitarian supplies into Gaza.
Here is their summary as of Thursday morning:
